This week saw the addition of something slightly strange to the Peterley landscape…. a Mongolian Yurt. These portable structures, constructed from bent timbers, have been used by Central Asian nomads for thousands of years. The ergonomics are such that yurt is easily moved and yet provides a cosy and strong shelter in the most unfriendly of weather conditions.
Our yurt may be Mongolian in design, but made the journey down from its previous home on the West coast of Scotland. It sprung into life in little more than a couple of hours and surely is the most time-effecient way to create a beautiful and characterful space, within a truly portable structure.
Our “pop-up” cafe literally just popped up!
The rather odd looking structure is deceptively spacious inside and is soon to be the home to our new “pop-up” cafe opening on the 6th June.
Have look inside….
